Vertigo

Thank you everyone for a hugely successful Vertigo! We had well over 1800 attendees, and believe this to be the most popular Vertigo ever. See you next year!
Vertigo is a rave dance party that is hosted by EnCouncil and the Engineering school every year shortly before Thanksgiving Break. In previous years, thousands of students from all majors have attended this four-hour party held in Lopata Gallery. Every year there are decorations focused around a theme that the Vertigo Committee chooses. In previous years the themes have included: Inferno, Underwater, Construction, Hazardous materials, and many more⦠This year's theme is "Old School Video Games"
We had been dancing on a raised, light-up, disco dance floor similar to the one at MIT. However, the floor has gotten to the point where it needs to be rebuilt. We are hoping to bring the dance floor back soon and IEEE has been putting lots of time into this goal. If you would like to help bring the dance floor back to Vertigo, please let us know or contact IEEE at ieee@su.wustl.edu. More help is always appreciated.
Other features of Vertigo include a live DJ, lighting effects, black lights, glow sticks, free pizza and "tasty beverages". Every year at the beginning of the fall semester, a Vertigo committee chair is elected to choose sub-chairs and head an entire committee dedicated to this event. If you are interested in being a part of Vertigo, this would be an excellent way to help or get involved. Over the years, Vertigo has grown and improved and many lessons have been learned thanks to the dedication of its committee members and chairs. We hope people will continue to step up and continue the tradition of Vertigo as it brings many parts of the campus together in the engineering school.
The 2009 Vertigo Charis are Matt Watkins and Sam Wight. All enquiries concerning Vertigo should be directed to the Chairs at mjw7@cec.wustl.edu and sfw2@cec.wustl.edu.
