Corporate Info
The Community Outreach Committee is in charge of coordinating corporate involvement with EnCouncil and Engineering School events. This includes tabling at the weekly Cheap Lunch event in Lopata Gallery, where potential employers come to meet our engineers, faculty, and community, and engage in discussions of how each group might see the other involved in what it is they do. Often, recruiters will take this opportunity to advertise their coming interviews or job applications on campus, or their recent or upcoming appearance at a career fair.
A complete schedule of Cheap Lunch events and their sponsors can be found in the calendar tab listed above. If you or your company would like to sponsor an Cheap Lunch event, please email Community Outreach Chair Ryan McCombe at rcm3@cec.wustl.edu
In addition to their presence at Cheap Lunch, the Community Outreach committee also coordinates professional speakers and Washington University School of Engineering alumni to come speak at events, such as during EnWeek, at Engineering Expo, or at regular general body meetings. This is a great time for corporations to be able to talk about what it is they do, what kind of engineering skills they find in their most successful employees, and engage in a non-recruiting based dialog about what role Washington University plays in their community, and what role we as engineers play in theirs.
If you or your company are interested in being a speaker at an engineering event or EnCouncil meeting, contact Community Outreach chair Ryan McCombe at rcm3@cec.wustl.edu.
